Yocon (Yohimbine) is an alpha-blocker used to cause dilation of the pupils in the eye and in blood vessels. Yocon (Yohimbine) is also used as an aphrodisiac to treat erectile impotence in men. Yocon (Yohimbine) may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. Yocon (Yohimbine) does not work for all men. Your doctor will determine if Yocon (Yohimbine) can be prescribed for you.Follow the directions for using Yocon (Yohimbine) provided by your doctor. STORE Yocon (Yohimbine) at room temperature, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF Yocon (Yohimbine), take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. DO NOT take 2 doses at once.
Yocon (Yohimbine) SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking Yocon (Yohimbine)include dizziness, nervousness, restlessness, agitation, anxiety, irritability, tremors, headache, flushing, nausea, or vomiting. If the Yocon (Yohimbine) side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience increased heart rate, painful urination, panic attacks, hallucinations, or severe headache. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Yocon (Yohimbine) is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other Yocon (Yohimbine) side effects contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
If Yocon (Yohimbine) overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of Yocon (Yohimbine) overdose may include weakness, fatigue, dizziness, excitation, severe stomach upset, nervousness, irritability, seizures, and paralysis.
DO NOT TAKE Yocon (Yohimbine) if you have had allergic reaction to Yocon (Yohimbine) or are allergic to any ingredient in Yocon (Yohimbine). IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS for Yocon (Yohimbine) to work. Do not stop using Yocon (Yohimbine) without checking with your doctor. DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED DOSE or take Yocon (Yohimbine) for longer than 10 weeks without checking with your doctor. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are taking Yocon (Yohimbine). Yocon (Yohimbine) may cause dizziness. DO NOT DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY, OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS until you know how you react to Yocon (Yohimbine). Using Yocon (Yohimbine) alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. AVOID CAFFEINE-CONTAINING foods and beverages, such as coffee, tea, cocoa, cola drinks, and chocolate. Yocon (Yohimbine) MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INCREASES IN BLOOD PRESSURE if certain foods are eaten. Avoid eating foods such as aged cheeses, sour cream, red wines, beer, bologna, pepperoni, salami, summer sausage, pickled herring, liver, meat prepared with tenderizers, canned figs, raisins, bananas, avocados, soy sauce, fava beans, or yeast extracts. Obtain a complete list of foods and beverages from your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicines that contain pseudoephedrine, phenylpropanolamine, or phenylephrine. CAUTION IS ADVISED WHEN USING Yocon (Yohimbine) IN THE ELDERLY because they may be more sensitive to the effects of this medicine. FOR WOMEN: Yocon (Yohimbine) is generally not recommended for use in females. DO NOT TAKE Yocon (Yohimbine) if you are pregnant. It is unknown if this medicine is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Yocon (Yohimbine).
