Vaseretic Tablet contains two active ingredients which used for the hypertension or high blood pressure treatment drug known as Enalapril and Hydrochlorothiazide. Enalapril is an ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor which works by works by preventing a chemical in your blood called angiotensin I from converting into a more potent form (angiotensin II) that increases salt and water retention in the body and causes the blood vessels to constrict--two actions that tend to increase blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a Thiazide diuretic. Thiazide diuretics (water pill) act in the kidney to remove water from the blood into the urine, by causing an increase in the removal of salts such as potassium and sodium from the blood. Removing water from the blood decreases the volume of fluid circulating through the blood vessels.
