Omnicef (Cefdinir) is a semi-synthetic oral antibiotic in the cephalosporin family of antibiotics.Omnicef (Cefdinir) stops bacteria from multiplying in infections of the middle ear (otitis media), tonsils (tonsillitis ), throat, larynx (laryngitis), bronchi (bronchitis), lungs (pneumonia), and skin and other soft tissues.
Omnicef (Cefdinir) is dosed to be taken once or twice daily.
Omnicef (Cefdinir) generally is well tolerated. The most common side effects are diarrhea or loose stools, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting , rash and headaches.
