Bextra

Bextra is prescribed for the treatment of tenderness, pain, inflammation or stiffness caused by arthritis or to treat pain during menstrual periods. Bextra is in a class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications called COX-2 inhibitors. Bextra works by stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain and inflammation.

Bextra Precautions

Bextra is not for everyone. Bextra should not be taken if you've had allergic reactions to certain drugs called sulfonamides, aspirin or other arthritis medicines or if you've had aspirin-sensitive asthma. Bextra should not be taken in late pregnancy. In rare cases, serious stomach problems such as bleeding can occur without warning. Serious skin rashes can occur. Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems. The most common side effects of bextra are headache, abdominal pain, indigestion, upper respiratory infection, nausea, and diarrhea.
