RAZADYNE ER is the new name of REMINYL (galantamine HBr), Reminyl is already recognized for its safety and effectiveness in helping to preserve his or her cognitive skills and their ability to accomplish daily living activities. Reminyl comes in a once-daily formulation, RAZADYNE ER (galantamine HBr). RAZADYNE ER contains the active ingredient galantamine and is available in three dosage strengths, Razadyne ER 8mg, Razadyne ER 16mg, and Razadyne ER 24mg extended-release capsules. Razadyne ER helps those with mild to moderate AD delay the progression of symptoms including thinking and memory. RAZADYNE ER has the added benefit of being an extended-release capsule, taken only once a day.
The RAZADYNE ER capsules contain a rate-controlling membrane that allows the medication to be released gradually over a 24-hour period. This new formulation contains an immediate and extended release dose that allows for the convenience of once-daily dosing.
RAZADYNE ER is in a class of drugs called acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Taken only once a day, the extended-release capsule is absorbed into the body consistently over a 24-hour period. Experts believe that RAZADYNE ER may block an enzyme that breaks down ACh in the brain, thereby making more ACh available.
Your doctor will be able to tell you whether it is safe to take RAZADYNE ER with other medications. Please inform your physician of any prescriptions, over- the-counter medication, vitamins, and herbal or dietary supplements that you may be taking.
