Lipitor Precautions

If you have high cholesterol, your doctor may prescribe Lipitor in addition to diet and exercise. However, there are certain people who should not take Lipitor. Talk to your doctor to make sure Lipitor is right for you.

You should not take Lipitor if:

  • you have active liver disease or possible liver problems
  • you are pregnant, could possibly become pregnant or are breast-feeding
  • you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Lipitor
  • you are taking a medication that might interact with Lipitor.
