MabCampath (alemtuzumab) is indicated for the treatment of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) in patients who have been treated with alkylating agents and who have failed fludarabine therapy.Injecting MabCampath (Alemtuzumab)subcutaneously (under the skin) is becoming more widely used because the side effects are much milder than when you have MabCampath (Alemtuzumab)injected intravenously (directly into the bloodstream). Most people will have one or more of the following side effects within the first week of treatment
Fever
Sweating
Feeling and being sick
Loss of appetite
Diarrhoea
Headache
Shortness of breath
Itching
The side effects associated eith MabCampath (Alemtuzumab) are usually mild and will settle down during the course of the treatment. Your doctor may give you other medication to help control these side effects.
Some other common side effects associated with MabCampath (Alemtuzumab) include:
Dizziness
Bruising easily
High blood pressure
Increased heart rate
Pain in the abdomen and other parts of the body (muscles, joints and bones)
Restlessness
Indigestion
Sore mouth and ulcers
Breathing problems
As with any other drug, there is a possibility that you can experience side effects that have not been listed above. You should report all side effects to your health care provider.
