Fortamet (Extended Release Metformin), used as a once-per-day monotherapy, is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to lower blood glucose. Fortamet (Extended Release Metformin) can be used concomitantly with a sulfonylurea or insulin to improve glycemic control in adults.
