Epipen (Epinephrine) Indication:EpiPen and EpiPen Jr (0.3 and 0.15 mg epinephrine) Auto-Injectors are indicated for emergency treatment of allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) for people with a history of an anaphylactic reaction.
The most common symptoms of anaphylaxis include:
Hives
Swelling of the throat, lips, tongue, or around the eyes
Difficulty breathing or swallowing
Some other symptoms of anaphylaxis can include:
A metallic taste or itching in the mouth
Generalized flushing, itching, or redness of the skin
Abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
Increased heart rate
Rapidly decreasing blood pressure (and accompanying paleness)
A sudden feeling of weakness
Anxiety or an overwhelming sense of doom
Collapse
Loss of consciousness
Epipen (Epinephrine) Auto-Injectors should be used with extreme caution in people who have heart disease.
Side effects of Epipen (Epinephrine) Auto-Injectors may include fast or irregular heartbeat, nausea, and breathing difficulty. Certain side effects may be increased if EpiPen Auto-Injectors are used while taking tricyclic antidepressants or MAOIs.
